Yesterday the baseball god (Babe Ruth) has blessed Quinnipiac University with the gift that keeps on giving. All-Star and future Hall of Fame inductee Mariano Rivera visited Quinnipiac. The Rivera Family sent the New York Yankee #42 relief pitcher to close the deal for signing Mariano Rivera Jr. with Quinnipiac. After a quick 1…2…3 tour of the University’s dorms, food facilities, and baseball team, Rivera ended in financial Aid to close the deal. 45 minute later and Quinnipiac University has picked up the Class of 2011 biggest free agent, Mariano Rivera Jr. While his father will be in blue and white, Rivera Jr. will be in blue and gold as a Bobcat.

All I can say is, this summer 3 young boys will get the golden ticket. In July when most incoming freshman receive information about the first year in college, mostly consisting of dumb worthless orientation shit. Such as, what weekend you need to take off work and drag your ass to college summer camp or what dumb themed group name you will be thrown into. Three boys will open this packet and read off the names of their freshman year roommates. Then they will come across the name Mariano Rivera Jr, and their college life will change forever. I feel the roommate information will read like this…..

We all know the Quinnipiac baseball is such an embarrassment for not only themselves but for all the student who attend the university. The facts are they suck so bad it becomes painful to even watch them run on the field. This team filled with guys who peeked in high school ball, got to meet All-Star player in a private team meeting. If there was a chance I could have a face to face with Rivera, it would be the only time in my life where I would want to pretend I was part of QU baseball team.

I hope Rivera Jr. can bring life to the QU baseball team and throw a nasty cutter over the plate. This is a win win for Rivera Jr and his QU career will go one of two ways….1. He is great player who brings some W for the team. Or 2. He plays like the rest of the team and sucks out there. playing like a one legged, blind guy with MS.
